PRAY TODAY

Please remember in your prayers Sr. Marion Kikukawa -
In the early morning of January 6, 2010, Sister Marion suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage (bleeding in the brain). Doctors have not been able to find the original source of the bleeding but do not feel it is at all related to a fall Sister had in November 2009. She continues to receive excellent care at the Queens Neuro Intensive Care Unit. She will continue to need extensive care regarding her health condition that requires her to remain quiet and minimally disturbed. It has been requested that everyone keep her in their prayers daily. Please do not visit the hospital nor call for up dates. Up dates on her condition will be posted on the St. Joseph's Church website.
For anyone wishing to send cards and well-wishes to Sr. Marion you may use the following address: Sisters of St. Francis of the Neuman Communities 2715 Pamoa Road, Honolulu, HI 96822-1838
UPDATE: 2/22/10
Sister Marion continues to make progress and participates with daily rehabilitation services at Rehab of the Pacific. She is doing well with her memory, overall brain function and following directions. She continues to lag in physical ability to transfer herself from her bed to her wheelchair. She is not walking at this time. She is able to sit upright and do things from her wheelchair. It is hopeful that she will return to the convent in early March and participate with outpatient physical therapy at that time. This site will be up dated once she returns to the convent. At that time visitors will be welcomed but it is asked that visitors call ahead to set up a visit time. Please continue to remember her in your daily prayers.
Prayer for the canonization of
Blessed Mother Marianne Cope Of Moloka`i- Lord Jesus, You gave us Your commandment of love of God and of neighbor, and identified Yourself in a special way with the most needy of your people; hear our prayer. Faithful to Your teaching, Mother Marianne Copeloved and served her neighbor, especially the most desolate outcast, giving herself generously and heroically for the victims of leprosy. She alleviated their physical and spiritual sufferings, thus helping them to accept their afflictions with resignation, as a pledge of God’s love and their eternal happiness. Through her merits and intercession, grant us the favor which we confidently ask of you ........That Sr. Marion Kikukawa & Fr. Joe Hennen may experience the healing touch of the Lord, so that the People of God, following the inspiration of her life and apostolate, may practice fraternal charity, according to your word and example. Amen. (Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be...)
